I’m a tiler blog

Pattern tiles, or vintage tiles as they are sometimes known, are becoming increasingly popular in homes that I have been tiling recently. I think this is a trend as I see more of them when I call to the tile shops and see the displays, which now seem to show a wider variety of styles than they ever did. They all hark back to the tiles which we used to call encaustic tiles, which were patterns printed onto a concrete base and used as inlay tiles in pub floors between the timber floors or in Victorian hallway floors. Nowadays with modern ways of printing, they can be produced with ceramic or porcelain bases which makes them much more affordable which is the reason why shops can now sell them and their popularity has increased. These are a few of the floors and walls that I have recently tiled and I’ll add more pictures as I fit more of them.
